Day 1:
When arriving in Cairo,
we are entering a land
that abounds in wonders
and mysteries, many of
which are revealed on
this tour. We are met at
the airport and
transferred to our
hotel.
Day 2:
Morning after breakfast,
our Tour Director
welcomes us with a
detailed pre-tour
briefing, then start
your journey in the Land
of Pharaohs. Let's go to
Giza to visit The
Pyramids, the most well
known monuments in the
world. They are huge!
The only way you can
truly understand this is
to stand beside the man
and lookup. There is a
possibility for a camel
ride (optional) to the
Great Pyramid of Cheops,
and a guided tour of
these magnificent
monuments and enigmatic
Sphinx. The Sphinx is
part of the pyramid
complex and the ruins of
the mortuary and
funerary temple of
Chephren are
accessible.We continue
to Memphis, the capital
of the Old Kingdom,
where a colossal statue
of Rameses II and a
great alabaster sphinx
await us. Nearby at
Sakkara we view the Step
Pyramid of Zoser I,
dating from 2686BC and
the oldest in the world.
Day 3:
Morning after breakfast
start full tour in Cairo
to enjoy the highlight
of the city, we visit
the famous Egyptian
Museum. Here, among the
many thousands of
artifacts on display, we
will view Tutankhamun's
splendid treasures. Do
you believe in the curse
of King Tut? Then visit
the citadel of Saladin
with Mosque of Mohamed
Ali and Sultan Hassan
Mosque. Overnight at
hotel. (B).
Day 4:
This morning we fly to
Luxor, the former
capital of the New
Kingdom. In private
moorings, near the edge
of town, our 5 star
cruise boat awaits! We
board in time for lunch
and then enjoy an
unforgettable
introduction to the
world of ancient Egypt
as we visit Luxor Temple.
We also tour the awe
inspiring temple complex
of Karnak, with its vast
Hypostyle Hall. We
return this evening for
a fabulous Sound and
Light show ( optional ).
There, among the avenues
of sphinxes and halls of
colossal columns, we
hear tales of ancient
Thebes.
Day 5:
After breakfast this
morning we cross to the
west bank of the Nile
visit the Valley of
Kings, Discover each
tomb in the Valley in
this interactive version
of the Atlas.
Investigate a database
of information about
each tomb, view a
compilation of nearly
2,000 images, interact
with models of each tomb,
and measure, pan, and
zoom over 250 detailed
maps, elevations, and
sectionsWe Stop for a
photo of the towering
Colossi of Memnon. These
two giant seated figures
are all that is left of
Amon-Ofis III mortuary
temple. We visit the
amazing Temple of Queen
Hatshepsut, blending
into the cliff face
above.This afternoon we
cruise south to Esna, (see
Esna Lock closure right)
and Edfu.
Day 6:
Morning after breakfast
enjoy a horse drawn
carriage ride to visit
the beautifully
preserved Temple of
Horus, (the Falcon God)
possibly the most
complete in Egypt, The
small town of Edfu,
located halfway between
Luxor and Aswan,
shelters the residence
of the falcon-god Horus,
a temple of Greco-Roman
time. Edfu is surrounded
by many typical villages
located along the Nile &
visit Edfu Temple. Sail
to Kom Ombo , Overnight
on board in Kom Ombo.
Day 7:
We cruise to exotic
Aswan in the cool of
early morning to visit
Philae Temple, Philae is
one of the last
pharaonic temples which
remained in activity and
mainly worship of the
beautiful goddess. Visit
the High Dam, The High
Dam was to be started by
the United States and
eventually the Soviet
Union built the dam. The
shore along the Nile
between Aswan and Abu
Simbel was lined with
temples. Therefor an
international rescue
operation was organized
by UNESCO, then move on
to unfinished Obelisque,
much of the red
granite used for ancient
temples and colossi came
from quarries in the
Aswan area., Later, we
return to Aswan where we
sail in a traditional
Nile felucca around
Aswan's Botanical
Gardens.
Day 8:
This morning perhaps
join the optional
excursion to the temples
of Abu Simbel, carved
out of the rock by
Rameses II and later
rescued from the rising
waters of Lake Nasser.
Abu Simbel was lined
with temples. Therefore
an international rescue
operation was organized
by UNESCOAfternoon, we
are free for leisure –
Overnight in Aswan.
Day 9:
After breakfast, we sail
in a traditional Nile
felucca around Aswan's
Botanical Gardens. We
cruise to Kom Ombo,
visit the temple which
was rebuilt at the
Ptolemaic time, it is a
double temple, devoted
to Haroeris with head of
falcon (Horus the great)
and with Sobek, the
god-crocodile. In the
second peripheral
corridor, a panel
details the surgical
instruments, pliers,
lancets, probe and
balancesContinue sailing
to Edfu, overnight on
board in Edfu.
Day 10:
Sailing to Luxor.Arrive
Luxor in the evening ,
overnight on board in
Luxor.
Day 11: After breakfast,
we disembark and get
transferred to the
Airport to return to
Cairo, arrive Cairo,
Meet, Assist and
transfer international
departure Airport and
back home.
