Your tour to the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, and old Coptic Cairo begins with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, the largest museum in Egypt, which houses over 120,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt. You will have the opportunity to explore some of the highlights of the Museum such as the Royal Mummy room, the Animal Mummy room and the treasures of Tutankhamun including his famous gold mask.
From the museum, we will resume your tour to the Egyptian Museum, Citadel and old Coptic Cairo, then we will drive to the Citadel of Salah el Din, situated on Moqatam Hill with wonderful views over Cairo. The main feature of the Citadel is the mosque of Mohammed Ali built as a replica to the magnificent Blue Mosque in Istanbul. The Citadel complex encompasses several mosques, the Gawhara Palace and the Police and Military Museums. After visiting the Citadel, we enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before exploring the streets of Coptic Cairo and Old Cairo. You will see how the past and present coexist and how different faiths live peacefully side by side.
